The Business Climate Is Shifting. Don't Get Caught Off Guard.

Earlier this week, I asked: Is the business climate turning the corner?
We'd seen early signals:
A $300B compute deal between Oracle and OpenAI
Thawing sales conversations in multiple sectors
A handful of strategic teams are getting back into motion.
Then, on Wednesday, we got something more concrete:
The Fed cut rates for the first time since December.
It's not a massive drop, and it doesn't mean the clouds have cleared.
But it is a signal. A sign that the slowdown may be softening.
I've felt this shift in my own work — my pipeline has been heating up fast.
And I've talked to enough others to know: this isn't just me.
Momentum is building. Quietly. But quickly.
If you've been waiting to plan, you're already behind.
When markets stall, planning stalls too. It's understandable.
People wait for clarity. For consensus. For "the right time."
But here's the risk: by the time confidence returns, it's already too late to get ahead.
If we see a continued acceleration this fall, companies that didn't plan in Q3 will get buried under Q4 urgency — and walk into 2026 reactive, not ready.
I call this the tyranny of the urgent.
It steals time from strategy and leaves companies scrambling to catch up — quarter after quarter.
So here's my advice:
Don't wait. Start planning now.
Not next month. Not "after budget." Right now.
You don't need a 30-page strategy. Just a place to start.
If you're unsure where to begin, here's a simple structure I often use with clients.
It's called a Plan on a Page — and yes, it really does fit on one page.
Take 20 minutes and answer these 5 questions to get started:
Simplified Plan on a Page
| 1. What is your top business goal for Q1 2026?
(Revenue? Pipeline? Retention? Be specific.)
| 2. Who is your core audience?
(Who are you targeting, and what do they care about right now?)
| 3. What do you want your audience to believe?
(Why now? Why you? What's your positioning?)
| 4. What are the top 3 marketing plays that will move the needle?
(Think content, campaigns, channels — but keep it focused.)
| 5. What gaps or risks could hold you back?
(Team? Budget? Message? Alignment?)
That's it. Just a clear, focused start.
If you fill that out with your team, you'll be ahead of most companies still in "wait and see" mode.
Need a more robust plan?
If you want help turning this into something more strategic — a deeper positioning exercise, a 90-day GTM plan, a demand gen sprint, or even just a smart gut-check — I do that.
It doesn't take months. It just takes measured movement.
Feel free to reach out.
Because if we are turning the corner, you'll want to be ready before the rush hits.
And if we're not?
You'll still be in a better place than you were — with clarity, alignment, and a plan that can adapt to your needs.
Start now. While there's still time to plan — not just react.
